 It was rather uneventful this morning, with 7 Little Egrets, Teal, 4 Cormorants, 2 Green Sandpipers, 5 Yellow Wagtails, 11 Swifts, 9 Curlews, 6 Whimbrels and 17 Sandwich Terns.

28th

A reeling Grasshopper Warbler was the first record since 1st May.   Also noted were 15 Sandwich Terns, 6 Cormorants, 2 Grey Herons, 7 Little Egrets, Wood Sandpiper, 6 Green Sandpipers, 4 Common Snipe, juvenile Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzards, Collared Dove, 3 Sand Martins and just 4 Yellow Wagtails.

Best birds at the south end this morning were 79 Sanderlings, 16 Dunlin, 27 Oystercatchers, 50 Common Scoters, 3 Eiders, Gannet, 4 Cormorants, 29 Sandwich Terns, 4 Common Terns, 2 Little Terns, Mediterranean Gull, 120 Golden Plovers, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, 15 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 3 Tufted Ducks, 3 Teal, 34 Yellow Wagtails, Pied Wagtail, 8 Sand Martins, 2 Corn Buntings, 30 Meadow Pipits and 2 Collared Doves.
24th

The south end was quiet this morning due to the fog and stiff northerly wind.  There was no "feel" at all.  After Monday's huge count, Little Egret numbers were down to 11, also 7 Cormorants, 2 Redshanks, 3 Green Sandpipers, Common Sandpiper, 120 Golden Plovers, 2 Common Buzzards, 5 Kestrels, 2 Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff, 18 Yellow Wagtails, 10 Corn Buntings, 2 Sand Martins and 2 Swifts.

21st

There was a fine flock of 48 Little Egrets on the flashes this morning with 7 Grey Herons, 5 Cormorants, 11 Mallard, 2 Tufted Ducks, Great Crested Grebe, Green Sandpiper, Redshank, Pied Wagtail and 23 Yellow Wagtails.   Not much else of note recorded.   All the barley fields and the lucerne field have been harvested so only 2 Corn Buntings noted.

17th

Did the north end to Pye's Hall and around the realignment area with Phil Espin.   Main birds were 36 Sandwich Terns, 6 Common Terns, 6 Shelducks, 17 Teal, 60 Common Scoters, 7  Cormorants, 2 Ospreys, 2 Kestrels, Hobby, 166 Oystercatchers, 30 Curlews, 10 Whimbrels, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, 9 Dunlin, 18 Golden Plovers, Grey Plover, 28 Redshanks, Greenshank, 5 Common Snipe, 2 Grey Herons, 15 Little Egrets, 5 Yellow Wagtails, 8 Pied Wagtails, 100 Swallows and 10 Sand Martins.16th

The 2 Ospreys at Pye's Hall have been present for over a fortnight now.   Meanwhile at the south end this morning were 140 Swallows, including a leucistic juvenile, 24 Sand Martins, 2 Swifts, 2 Green Sandpipers, 55 Curlews, 5 Cormorants, 2 Gannets, 7 Sandwich Terns, 4 Kestrels, Marsh Harrier, 24 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Pied Wagtails, 11 Little Egrets and 5 Grey Herons

12th

It was good to get out to the tide-line this morning where I had a bit more autumn fare, hence 70 Sandwich Terns, 2 Arctic Terns, 2 Arctic Skuas, 170 Common Scoters, 19 Shelducks, 5 Teal, 8 Mallard, 17 Cormorants, Red-throated Diver, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, 52 Curlews, Dunlin and 3 Oystercatchers.   On the landward side were 6 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 3 Collared Doves, 4 Tufted Ducks, 8 Redshanks, 3 Green Sandpipers, Marsh Harrier, 4 Mistle Thrushes, 2 Common Swifts, 6 Yellow Wagtails, Pied Wagtail, 3 Corn Buntings and a Cuckoo.

11th

   It was nice to get a dry day.   I recorded 35.5 mm yesterday which was the wettest day for at least 3 years.   Today I undertook the WeBS count for the realignment area and noted the following:- 45 Oystercatchers, 2 Curlews, Whimbrel (heard only), 5 Redshanks, 3 Greenshanks, 15 Golden Plovers, 15 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 27 Shelducks, 2 Tufted Ducks, 2 Mute Swans, 7 Cormorants, 4 Kestrels, 40 Swallows, 800 Starlings, Pied Wagtail and Quail.

It was fairly quiet in the Quad 3 area this morning, hence 72 Swifts, 125 Swallows, 3 House Martins, Turtle Dove, Hobby, Kestrel, Pied Wagtail, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 10 Corn Buntings, Mistle Thrush, Grey Heron, 9 Little Egrets, 6 Tufted Ducks, 49 Curlews and 3 Cormorants.

25 Swifts in from the sea before heading NW or SW and also 50 Swallows mainly south.   Also seen were 17 Long-tailed Tits, Mistle Thrush, 2 Turtle Doves, Barn Owl, Yellow Wagtail, 12 Little Egrets, 2 Cormorants, 5 Oystercatchers and 41 Curlews.
